Description

Trimble GEDO GX50

Overview

The Trimble GEDO GX50 is a modern and flexible laser scanning system that is designed to operate with Trimble GEDO track measurement systems.

The Trimble GEDO GX50 is available in a Single Head configuration with one scanner and in a dual head configuration with two scanners. The modular system design allows the second scanner to be added later.

Description

Depending on application specific requirements, the scanners can be mounted in different positions and tilt angles. The scanner positioned perpendicular to the track axis provides an optimum of accuracy for high precision clearance analysis. In the butterfly configuration, objects that are perpendicular to the track become clearly visible.

The high-resolution three-dimensional data obtained with the system quickly and precisely can be used for clearance verification and as-built data collection. In terms of accuracy and resolution, the data provides an excellent basis for modeling in a BIM-compliant design and construction workflow.

Trimble GEDO Scan Systems

The Trimble GEDO GX50 can be combined with the Trimble GEDO CE 2.0 track measurement trolley to form various Trimble GEDO systems. The track measurement trolley measures the track gauge and cant in conjunction with the distance traveled. The basic configuration, Trimble GEDO Scan, allows the acquisition of a purely relative or pseudo-absolute processed point cloud. In the geodetic Trimble GEDO Rec-Scan configuration, the absolute track position is determined using a total station or GNSS receiver. This position is also used for absolute referencing of the point cloud. The Trimble GEDO IMS-Scan and Trimble GEDO IMS-GNSS-Scan systems combine state-of-the-art inertial measurement technology and laser scanner into a multisensor system. The flexible processing allows different types of georeferencing for an absolute referenced point cloud.

Description

Operating in either LOCAL or ABSOLUTE Mode, collected 3D point clouds are used to produce detailed 3D models of tunnels, overpasses, stations, platforms, crossings and other facilities. Using clearance envelopes and 3D models, the system simulates the movement of the railcar through an existing facility or a stretch of track. Potential railcar clearance encroachments against existing and design profiles are automatically detected and reported.

Trimble GEDO Profiler
Within the Trimble GEDO IMS system the Trimble GEDO Profiler 2.0 is used to measure marked reference points along the track. Based on these measurement, the trajectory generated by the Trimble GEDO IMS system gets referenced. The resulting track position can be used for the asset data collection.

Trimble GEDO Scan
The combination of Trimble GEDO Scan and Trimble GEDO IMS provides a highly productive survey and mapping system for assets close to the track. It produces a dense 3D point cloud with an absolute reference. Out of the point cloud asset data information can be collected and clearance checks can be processed. As well the data can be used as an as-built survey before, during and after construction within a BIM project.

Trimble GEDO IMS+GNSS
Combining the Trimble GEDO IMS system with Trimble GNSS technology enables track survey without reference points based on a given GNSS reference system. Thereby collected data can be used to create a new or modified track design. Reference points can be established and measured during the survey run. This allows the usage of the system for furthe survey work during the re-construction phase.

Trimble GEDO NovaTrack takes into consideration various specifications and limiting factors for smoothing design. Interactive graphical views with editing commands allow the end user to quickly generate a workable solution. There is a direct data exchange with GEDO Office to use GEDO measurements and return the alignment (axis, gradient, superelevation). Trimble GEDO Scan Office

The GEDO Scan Pre-Processing Module pre-processes GEDO Scan measurements.
Purely relative measurements are then available immediately. Absolute measurements as geo-referenced 3D point cloud for analysis after synchronization with the track geometry.

Trimble GEDO Scan Office Point Cloud Module
Point Cloud Module enables track-specific analysis of the point cloud.
The distances of objects relative to the track position or between objects can be measured. The clearance can be checked with a static frame or on the basis of a wagon model. The position of the adjacent track can be detected from the scan. Overhead lines are detected and the distances to the track position are calculated. Points can be taken directly from the point cloud and line objects can be registered automatically. Cross profiles generated along the route are further processed and vectorized with Trimble GEDO Scan Analysis. After automatic dimensioning, the DXF export takes place. In addition to the data kinematically recorded with the Trimble GEDO Scan System, static laser scan data and point clouds can also be processed by the Mobile Mapping System.

Additional modules (i.e WinLUE, Clearroute, Banedanmark) allow the export of analysis results according to the requirements of the infrastructure operators for the respective clearance databases.
