The Zenmuse L1 integrates a Livox Lidar module, a high-accuracy IMU, and a 1-inch 20MP CMOS camera on a 3-axis stabilised gimbal. When used with the Matrice 300 RTK and DJI Terra, the L1 forms a complete solution that gives you real-time 3D data, efficiently capturing the details of complex structures and terrain while delivering high accuracy reconstructed models.

Combined with the DJI M300, it’s possible to cover 80HA whilst receiving triple returns when flying at 80m AGL with 20% overlap in 30 min (30min is one battery cycle, landing with sufficient battery reserves).

As well as being able to conduct real-time kinematic (RTK) flights with the L1 the DJI M300, you can also apply post-processed kinematic (PPK) corrections to the L1 data in DJI Terra in areas where cellular reception is not sufficient or you have RTK dropouts during an RTK flight and want to reprocess your data.

GPS base files in OEM, UBX, Rinex, or RTCM formats can be used to PPK your data, which means you can use your Trimble GPS base to record a GPS base session over a known mark or download a Rinex file from VRSNow.

UPG recently put the L1 to the test by comparing RTK and PPK flights against each other in a typical survey application, and the results were impressive. The image shows when the RTK point cloud (cyan) is placed over a PPK point cloud (red), both point clouds align with each other.
